Weibel Scientific delivers 42% growth and strengthens position in the global defense market
Weibel Scientific reports revenue of DKK 818 million and secures orders worth over DKK 1.5 billion in the fiscal year 2024/25, while geopolitical changes drive demand across Europe, Asia, and North America
ALLERØD – The rapidly growing demand in the global defense market has strengthened Weibel Scientific’s position within the radar segment. The company delivered revenue of DKK 818 million in the fiscal year 2024/25 – an increase of 42% from DKK 576 million the previous year. Under the leadership of CEO Peter Røpke, who joined in December 2024, the Danish family-owned company continues its growth journey towards the ambitious goal of over DKK 2 billion in revenue by 2030.
Solid foundation ensures continued expansion
The growth is built on a strong order book developed over several years and marks Weibel’s unique position within both instrumentation radars and air defense. At the same time, the company secured new orders worth over DKK 1.5 billion in the fiscal year, about one-third of which comes from the strategic Kongsberg contract announced in May 2025.
“42% revenue growth reflects not only market dynamics but also our ability to deliver world-class technology,” says Peter Røpke. “With unique radar technology and a growing market, we are well positioned to fulfill our owners’ ambitions.”
Growth across continents
Weibel’s radar systems are now installed in more than 40 countries, with 99% of revenue generated from exports. The XENTA radar system, which serves both civilian and military purposes for drone detection, is a significant growth driver, while the company’s latest venture into the C-band frequency opens new long-term opportunities.
“The changing geopolitical landscape and higher defense budgets create many potential collaborations in Europe, Asia, and North America,” explains Røpke. “We have high expectations for the XENTA radar and the technological challenge that C-band development represents. “The workforce, which includes engineers as well as professionals in software development, production, sales, project management, and administrative functions, grew from 373 to 460 full-time positions. In the coming fiscal year, Weibel plans to hire more than 150 additional employees.
Optimistic expectations despite challenges
The reported EBITDA margin fell from 26.1% to 17.2%, reflecting strategic investments in future growth opportunities and streamlining the project portfolio. For 2025/26, Weibel expects revenue growth of 30-40% with a normalized EBITDA margin above 20%, which is a significant improvement compared to 2024.
“I see the attention that the defense industry is experiencing as an opportunity to strengthen the company and ensure that we can attract and retain the right competencies to exploit the great potential,” concludes Røpke.
The annual report has been approved at the Annual General Meeting.
