Weibel Awarded Contract for Six MRR-LP C-Band Instrumentation Radars Under U.S. Army RRRP Block III Program

Reston, Virginia and Allerød, Denmark – Weibel Scientific has been awarded a contract to deliver six MRR-LP C-band instrumentation radars under the U.S. Army’s Range Radar Replacement Program (RRRP) Block III.

The award represents a significant milestone in the continued modernization of the U.S. Army’s test and evaluation infrastructure and expands Weibel’s instrumentation radar

portfolio beyond its longstanding leadership in X-band systems. The MRR-LP C-band radars will complement the existing U.S. Army portfolio of Weibel X-band radars to provide advanced tracking and measurement capabilities to support the testing and evaluation of current and future defense systems, while maintaining a common product baseline.

Building on decades of experience delivering high-precision instrumentation radars to military test ranges around the world, Weibel’s C-band solution leverages the company’s expertise in digital beamforming, target tracking, signal processing, and test-range instrumentation. The new capability provides additional spectrum flexibility, support for legacy C-band transponders, and enhanced operational versatility across increasingly complex test environments.

“This award represents an important milestone for both the U.S. Army and Weibel,” said Jeremy Wilch, President and CEO of Weibel Scientific North America. “For decades, Weibel’s X-band instrumentation radars have supported some of the world’s most demanding test and evaluation missions. With RRRP Block III, we are extending that expertise with a family of C-band systems that will expand range capabilities, increase spectrum flexibility, and help ensure America’s test ranges remain ready to support future defense technologies.”
